Support for Foodbank Australia
Kellogg is a proud supporter of Foodbank Australia, a national not-for-profit organisation that provides a link between food manufacturers and charitable agencies across Australia.
One in every ten Australians currently relies on help from welfare organisations. That means that every year 2 million people in Australia, over half of them children, depend on hunger relief.
Foodbank is Australia’s largest hunger relief charity. Working together, Foodbank, it’s donors, supporters, partners, welfare agencies, volunteers and staff are tackling the hidden problem of hunger in Australia, one empty stomach at a time.
Foodbank aims to ensure that surplus food, donated by the food and grocery industry, is made accessible to welfare agencies for distribution to people in need.
Foodbanks across Australia provide food to over 1500 welfare agencies. Last year Foodbank distributed 10 million kgs of food, which fed 30 000 people a day – that’s 12 million meals a year!
Kellogg is committed to assisting Foodbank and last year donated over 100 tonnes of cereal and convenience food to Foodbank.
Go to Foodbank’s Website to find further information about the great work that they do.
