Successful weight management is simply about balancing the amount of kilojoules we take in with the amount we expend in our daily activities.  It’s that straightforward.

As a breastfeeding mother, your energy requirements are greatly increased.

Regular, moderate physical activity is good for your health, throughout most stages in life. Exercise may have an impact on the amount of milk you produce, but most women can tolerate some form of physical activity during the lactation period. Seek individualised advice from your doctor or an exercise physiologist if you’re unsure of what level of activity is right for you. Always remember to drink plenty of fluids when breastfeeding and exercising.
