The DI values are based on an average adult diet providing 8700kJ of energy. To determine your personal DI energy values, your age, weight, height, gender and level of physical activity need to be taken into account.
The calculator will ask you to enter that information. Your DI energy value will then be calculated based on the information you provide. You can also calculate DI energy values for children over the age of 4 years using a slightly different equation which uses their age, gender and level of physical activity.
