NEW ZEALAND CAPS AND LIDS RECYCLING SCHEME
In New Zealand, an estimated 252,000 tonnes of plastic waste is sent to landfill each year.
As part of Kellanova’s sustainable packaging journey, the company aims to eliminate unnecessary plastic packaging and is working towards recyclable solutions.
The Pringles brand has been leading the charge by removing the plastic lid and reducing the size of the small (53g) can without reducing the number of chips.
Kellanova has joined the NZ Packaging Forum’s Caps and Lids Recycling scheme. The scheme is focused on ensuring caps and lids which are made from recyclable material can be recovered, recycled and placed back into the circular economy.
