Fibre is Fashionable

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about fibre!? Was it the toilet? Well, we’re here to tell you that there is so much more to this little food component than you ever imagined.  Think about something that helps to keep you healthy, feeds the good bugs in your tummy,  helps you feel fuller, keeps you regular and helps blood sugars and cholesterol levels to stay steady.

 

Sounds too good to be true? Well, it’s true. Our scientists have been examining fibre for decades and we also know that it’s the fibre from grains, such as in breakfast cereals.

 

Fibre Is All About Balance

Getting a balance of fibres from different sources is also the key to enjoying all those benefits we mentioned before. Here’s how to do it.

Eat 4-6 serves of whole-grain of high fibre grains and cereals per day

Eat 2 serves of fruit with the skin on per day

Eat 5 serves of vegetables per day

Eat at least one serve of nuts, seeds or legumes per day

 

Eat these every day, together with lean protein, healthy fats and good quality dairy food and you will be singing.

Believe us when we say that fibre is something you could always have more of – just like diamonds. Although, we’d argue fibre is more valuable.

 

Fibre in Our Food
