1924Morris Raymer, machinery specialist, arrives in Sydney to set up the equipment to make Corn Flakes, kickstarting the first Australian production of Kellogg’s cereal in Chippendale, NSW.

1928Due to the success of Corn Flakes, a new plant is built in Botany, New South Wales. Today, this remains the current site for Kellogg’s® cereal production in Australia. The factory has seen several updates over the decades, to meet increasing demand and advancements in manufacturing capabilities.

1960Cornelius, the now well-known rooster, first appears on Corn Flakes’ packaging.

1961Kellogg Australia becomes the biggest maize buyer in the nation, and today still purchases almost 7000 tonnes of Australian corn every year.

1962Just like a chocolate milkshake… only crunchy!’ first airs on national television, which has since become a nostalgic and synonymous phrase for Coco Pops®.1980 - 2011

1973Kellogg launches the iconic Nutri-Grain® cereal in Australia, an original created for this market. Still to this day, it is only sold in Australia and New Zealand.

1980 - 20111980Nutri-Grain® partners with Australia’s Ironman - and now Ironwoman - series. This partnership continues 43 years on, creating a lasting connection with the surf sporting community.

1982Kellogg creates Just Right® cereal, also made uniquely for Aussies who wanted something healthy and tasty…’Not too Heavy, Not too Light’, marking a new wave in cereal production.

1985Sustain® cereal was developed in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport which has become a firm favourite, providing energy from wholegrains.

2006Kellogg pioneers the first front-pack Percentage Daily Intake Counters, empowering consumers to make informed food choices.

2008The iconic ‘Tall Jan is Malicious’ advertisement goes live for the delicious All-Bran® cereal.

2012 - 20202012Significant reduction in salt levels across cereals announced. Since 1997, Kellogg has reduced salt levels across cereals by up to 59% - that equates to approximately 300 metric tonnes removed from Australian diets today.

2012 - 20202012Pringles joins the Kellogg Company, building on the business focus on the snacking world.

2015Kellogg embraces the new Health Star Rating initiative, rolling it out across packaging to aid consumers to make informed decisions. As part of the commitment to health, Nutri-Grain gets a decade-long renovation, reducing sugar and sodium while boosting fibre content.

2019Kellogg signs a seven-year Power Purchase Agreement with a solar farm in Beryl, to offset some electricity use with renewable energy, helping to eliminating 35,000 tonnes of GHG emissions.

2019Kellogg is proudly recognised as an Australian Employer of Choice for Workplace Gender Equality

2020Kellogg increases its support for Aussie farmers through partnering with the Cool Soil Initiative, working on soil health and reducing on-farm GHG emissions nationally.

2020Kellogg donates 500 kilograms of cereal by-product to Yume, a certified social enterprise that uses technology to prevent commercial food waste, to make a limited-edition IPA beer.
